Photo Red Eye Remover Free

Today I'll tell you more about two photo red eye remover free programs - Gimp and Fast Stone.

You can use Fast Stone just for personal and educational projects, if you want to use it for commercial too, you have to pay license for it. And you can use Gimp for free for personal and commercial projects.

First we'll remove red eyes with Gimp. You just simply import a picture and outline red eye (pupil) with Selection Tool. You can find Selection Tool in Toolbox, where are other useful buttons too.

When your pupil is outlined, go to Filters - Enhance - Red Eye Removal. And that's it. Red eye becomes black. Repeat with the other eye and red eyes completely disappear.

Santa Claus With Toys

Today I'll show you how to add background to clip art.

Below is public domain clip art Santa Claus with toys from Clker by OCAL.

 

I added blue background and snowflakes... I used color #9de5ff and Gradient tool.

Then I added color #718ff3. Now it looks like this...

I imported image of Santa (above) and here it is...

I also made Santa Claus coloring page.

I just replaced all fill colors with white (#fffffff) and outline color is black (#000000).

Thanksgiving Turkey and harvest

Here you can find another public domain clipart I changed a little bit and uploaded to openclipart.org as remix.

Originally this was turkey and harvest, uploaded by johnny_automatic and drawn by Marie Abrams.

 It looks like this.

At first I made it a bit lighter with Inkscape.
I used Extensions - Color and then mostly Brighter (about five times), Less Light and More Saturation. Actually I just tried few options and if I didn't like it, I used Undo.

Here is brighter turkey.

Then I tried how it would look like with orange background, where I used color #f26011 and Gradient tool.

Here is my last version with orange background.

I often use clip art from openclipart.org or clker.com. These clip art are free and public domain.

I found Thanksgiving turkey on clker.com, Thanksgiving Turkey by Kara78.

I changed background with Inkscape, orange color #f26011.

Then I used Gradient tool to create a color gradient.

I also made coloring page. I changed all colors to white, except stroke paint of course, which stays black.

Fall Photos

Wow. I'm on Squidoo home page for the fourth time in a row. This time my first page lens is Fall Photos, http://www.squidoo.com/fall-photos .

I took few photos last Autumn, and they looked a bit boring and grayish. So I made a few tricks with Gimp and photos looked prettier at once. It is really easy and it doesn't take much time.

My lens Astronaut for Halloween got on the first page on Squidoo (www.squidoo.com). 

It was made for Squid-Zone SquidQuest where we had to use Squidoo's new Sci-Fi theme. We were able to write about anything we wanted. 

So I thought why not Halloween costumes? Astronaut Halloween costume is really nice costume and kids can also use it for pretend games too.
